You will serve as a SUPERVISOR IT SPECIALIST (PLCYPLN) in the Information Operations Division of NAVWARSYSCEN PACIFIC SAN DIEGO CA.
Duties
You will serve as technical liaison between Information Technology (IT), Special Security Representative (SSR) personnel, contractors, and project managers, ensuring that all IT and Lab Management/SSR support addresses Information Operations (IO).
You will advocate for change that will support new capabilities, efficiencies, and process improvement.
You will recommend division-wide policies and procedures using knowledge of infrastructures, domain management, software, security implementation, and network configurations.
You will maintain a thorough understanding of the technical requirements of contracts, reviewing and analyzing Statements of Work.
You will work with project leads to ensure that IT infrastructure, lab spaces, and IT and SSR Support meet systems engineering, systems integration, research and development, test and evaluation, and operational requirements.
You will interface with management and technical personnel from other laboratories, government agencies, and program sponsors when necessary.
Requirements

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
Qualifications
I have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined:
1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Maintains a thorough understanding of the technical requirements of contracts, reviewing and analyzing Statements of Work, clarifying requirements as necessary, and providing technical interpretation of requirements to government IT personnel and contractors.
2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Recommends division-wide policies and procedures using knowledge of infrastructures, domain management, software, security implementation, and network configurations.
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Interfaces with management and technical personnel from other laboratories, government agencies, and program sponsors when necessary.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Works with project leads to ensure that IT infrastructure, lab spaces, and IT and SSR Support meet systems engineering, systems integration, research and development, test and evaluation, and operational requirements.
In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-11 or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public Leading a team and applying knowledge/understanding of information technology management, special security requirements, and classified lab management.
