About the Position: Serves as Transportation Assistant to the Installation Unit Movement Coordinator (UMC)/Transportation Coordinator's Automated Information Management System (TCAIMS II) System Administrator, in deployment coordination and execution.

Duties

Review Active and Reserve Component (RC) Unit Movement data prior to submission to the Computerized Movement Planning and Status System (COMPASS) to ensure accuracy. Assist the Installation Unit Movement Coordinator in reviewing and editing Unit Movement Data (UMD), Organizational Equipment List (OEL)/Unit Deployment Lists (UDL) data and related documentation from active and Reserve component units Perform marshalling area inspections, stages equipment in load plan sequence, documents loading or offloading operations and collects documentation, reporting discrepancies to unit personnel. Assist in classroom and hands-on instruction for mobilization and deployment transportation related requirements to units that are supported by and mobilize at Fort Cavazos.

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Pre-employment physical required.
  • This position has been designated as Key and Essential for mobilization and deployment operations and cannot be filled by an Active Component Soldier, USAR or ARNG Soldier or military retiree withcall back orders.
  • Per 49 CFR 172.702 and 49 CFR 172.704 employees with any hazardous materials transportation responsibilities must take and successfully complete the DoD-80 hour in-classroom Hazardous Materials Certification Course every two years.
  • Irregular work hours required after normal duty hours, weekends, holidays, evenings, and nights.
  • Occasionally lifts, positions, and carries supplies, computer hardware and other equipment weighing from 20 to 50 pounds, in excess of 50 pounds, between three deployment nodes.
