You will serve as a SUPERVISORY SUPPLY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the Supply Department (Code 500) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Duties

You will initiate and oversee a Project Material Readiness strategy, review written job summaries, Technical Work Documents (TWDs), references, material tracking information, and project facility plans to ensure completeness and accuracy. You will ensure Material Readiness Cell (MRC) is functioning properly during initial fill and steady state. You will oversee warehouse functions of the project material envelopes and ensure inventory accuracy of materials in possession. You will use a variety of corporate and other automated systems to track information, relay data, research issues, and resolve documentation anomalies that may potentially cause work delays. You will plan work, set and adjust priorities, evaluate work performance, and counsel employees on both work and administrative matters.

Requirements

  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience supporting project teams during the availability with material movement, tracking, warehousing and issuing. Experience utilizing all production methods, procedures, material and equipment required for Shipyard repair and overhaul of complex Navy vessels. Experience planning and managing work schedules, materials, and technical work instructions to accomplish projects. Experience applying analytical skills to identify specific problems, evaluating lessons learned, and identifying new methods of work breakdown structure to evaluate alternatives and develop recommendations for changes and resolutions. Experience making clear, concise and effective oral presentations and written reports consisting of findings, graphics, charts, and other supporting documentation.
