About the Position: Serves as primary assistant and office manager and performs a wide variety of office management and administration duties to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the US Army Material Command, DCS for Resource Management, G-8, Redstone Arsenal, AL.
Duties
Incumbent serves as the focal point in the G-8 for the receipt and review of incoming tasks, projects, correspondence and other communications and materials.
Provides staff advice, assistance, and consultation in response to a wide-variety of administrative procedures, tasking, and appropriate responses to inquiries from the G-8.
Maintains suspense tracking log and provide quarterly suspense reporting.
Reviews and evaluates special projects and action items coming into the office.
The incumbent is the primary administrative contact for executive administrative actions within the organization with responsibility for determining what format and context is required.
Conducts final review for conformance to policy and administrative procedures prior to the appropriate authoritative signature.
Receives telephone calls and high-ranking visitors from both the military and civilian communities.
Serves as the point of contact on actions at all stages in the approval process.
Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position. OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
