Duties
The primary purpose of this position is to provide information services and assistance to internal and external personnel on Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System/Realtime Automated Personnel Identification System (DEERS/RAPIDS) systems, and processes, and procedures.Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Qualifications
GS-5: Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and ability to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line work. Examples of specialized experience include: using a computer to type documents/Emails, able to do simple addition and subtraction, and able to communicate effectively. OR
at least one of the following if using education to qualify at this grade level: (A) Successfully completed (4 years above high school) education above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite is creditable; OR (B) A combination of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 level in or related to the work of this position AND only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience. Experience and education combinations are computed by first determining the total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level; then determining the total of qualifying education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level; and then adding the two percentages. The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify at that grade level.
