About the Position: The employee functions as the primary administrative liaison between the Mobile District Chief of Operations and the administrative staff at the project offices, providing support to the project offices, performing a variety of clerical and administrative duties in support of the multifunctional Operations Mission ensuring consistency across the Operations Division.

Duties

Perform the use of a computer to type narrative and tabular material. Locate and assembling information for various reports, briefings, conferences, etc. Composes complex reports and correspondence related to administrative and budgetary matters. Suspense, tracks and consolidates reports. Maintains subject matter files and records that relate to the work of the unit. Establish and maintains logs showing the status of actions and correspondence. Schedules appointments and makes arrangements for time, participants, and location of meetings in accordance with instructions from the supervisor. Follow up with staff members to insure that various commitments made at conferences and meetings are met. Performs routine Operations Division executive office budget administration functions in the formulation and revision of annual budget estimates for mission support activities and components. Plans the work of the office, distributes work, ensures the acceptability of both the quantity and quality of work performed, and performs a range of administrative supervisory functions. Formulates and revises the annual budget estimates. Oversees arrangements for travel, arranging schedules of visits, making reservations, notifying organizations and officials to be visited, and submitting travel vouchers and reports. Performs a variety of administrative support duties, such as making extensive travel arrangements and composing complex but non-technical correspondence. Consolidate and summarizes budgetary data from source documents such as supply orders, purchase orders and inventory reports for use in preparing estimates.

Assisting with administrative support duties such as: making travel arrangements, scheduling conferences, draft correspondences/reports, maintaining files, and timekeeping; 3) Orders supplies and prepares obligations for purchases for a wide variety of items by varied open market purchase methods, such as ordering against blanket purchase agreements, GSA orders, and credit card purchases and 4.) Providing customer service to office personnel and visitors. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Budget AdministrationClericalComputer SkillsCustomer Service (Clerical/Technical) Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
