Duties
Serves as the Deputy Director, Customer Care Center, and technical expert in regards to Customer Care Center staffing, metrics, and operational performance.
Manages the review of a variety of financial policies, guidelines, data, documents, reports, processes, and procedures to determine trends that impact operational efficiency.
Exercises accountability and leadership oversight of audits and operational reviews performed by the Internal Control and Quality Review units to ensure correct and proper execution of Department of Defense guidance, policies, and procedures.
Plans work and establish priorities for subordinate employees; select or approve the selection of employees; develop and/or review performance standards; evaluate employee performance.
Analyzes statistics related to internal and external business drivers that help identify potential trends and forecasts of operational needs.
Develops operational improvement recommendations based on analyses of data and performance gaps.

Qualifications
One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-11) within the federal service that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position is required.
For GS-12: Specialized experience at the GS-11 grade level is defined as: providing technical expertise on financial standards and principles to effectively analyze customer service operations; applying applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures to resolve issues relating to financial entitlements; and providing complex operational analysis to leadership in effort to help carry out the financial mission.
GS-12 Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks must meet the time in grade requirement. Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-11 or higher grade in Federal Service.
