You will serve as a SUPERVISORY DEPUTY OPERATIONS OFFICER in the G3/G5/G7 Division of MARFORCOM NORFOLK.

Duties

You will develop consolidated Amphibious Ready Group/Marine Expeditionary Unit deployment schedules in support of Global Force Management requirements; and supports development of Maritime Fires and Effects Cell capabilities. You will review and implements proposed mission assurance related programs, strategies and initiatives in support of Naval, Marine and NORTHCOM programs. You will provide the Director of Operations with awareness and current knowledge of capabilities, transition strategies and status of Fleet Marine forces. You will assist G-3, ACS G-3/5 and deputy ACS G-3/5 with duties as required and plans and executes special projects as directed by the Commander. You will recommend changes to the Commander's Critical Information Requirements (CCIRs) and Commander's Significant Event Notification Requirements (CSENs). and develop situational CCIRs and CSENs as required. You will maintain current knowledge of all facets of command center operations and provide guidance to duty personnel on key focus items.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret with SCI security clearance while employed in the subject position. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.

Qualifications

I have One year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Skilled knowledge of U. S. Marine Corps Operations and Planning Processes at the Component level to include but not limited to the Joint Force Global Force Management Process, US Navy Fleet Scheduling process, and the Mission Assurance process used by the United States Marine Corps.
