You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Research & Development Group, Weapons & Energetics Department, Propulsion & Energetics Division of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV POINT MUGU.
Duties
You will work directly with the Research Development Test /Evaluation Range Department.
You will be preparing test items and assembling test items for subsequent range or customer specific testing requirements.
You will support in the areas of maintenance and testing.
You will be responsible for transporting missiles, rockets, and other munitions to the flight line for current (RDT/E).
Requirements

- Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
Qualifications
GS-12
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Analyzing technical drawings and specifications sheets in relation to the Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E); 2) Following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), take direction and work with minimal supervision in a team environment; 3) Collaborates, coordinates, and communicates effectively with team members, engineers, customers, and management, to assure all approved procedures for testing and authorized repairs are followed; 4) Leading others and review work for compliance with instructions and adequacy, judgment, and satisfaction of requirements.
