Duties
Perform budget formulation work such as providing detailed analysis of annual or multi-year budget estimates.
Review, analyze, and interprets major program/budgeting policies received from higher headquarters.
Establish program/project priorities and recommends allocations for programs.
Review modifications to budget to verify need and/or availability of funds.

Monitor year end closing to ensure proper usage of funds.
Compile data regarding obligations, expenses to produce budget estimates and/or reports.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This is a DOD Financial Management position. The incumbent must complete training and meet position requirements for certification at Level 2 within 2 years of appointment. Failure to obtain and maintain certification may result in adverse action.
- Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes formulating and/or executing budget submissions; analyzing budget/funding data to ensure proper usage of resources; preparing budget reports for senior leadership; utilizing automated financial or budget system to input and/or extract data for reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
