About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the National Ground Intelligence Center, Science and Technology Directorate, Advanced Conventional Weapons Division, Charlottesville, VA 22911.

Duties

All-source, scientific and technical intelligence analyst responsible for assessing indirect fire munitions capabilities, performance, and associated technologies in the Advanced Conventional Weapons Division. Responsible for initiating, coordinating, and contributing to finished analytic products, focusing on current and forecasted characteristics, capabilities, and performance assessments of indirect-fire munitions and associated technologies. Responsible for researching and collecting data from multiple sources to utilize scientific and engineering knowledge and principles to organize and evaluate the veracity of data used for analysis of assigned area of responsibility. Defends validity and soundness of methodologies and analytic techniques, intelligence policy emphasis, satisfaction of customer requirements, adherence to Army policies and objectives in a variety of reviews through the chain of command. Works effectively with team members and stakeholders, ensuring clear and concise communication to facilitate collaboration and achieve common goals.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
• In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
