About the Position: Serves as Chief, Budget Execution Branch for the Budget and Execution Division, Program Resource Integration Directorate, Headquarters Department of the Army, Deputy Chief of Staff,G-6, Fort Belvoir, VA.

Duties

Provide advice, counsel and instructions to subordinates on work and administrative matters. Assist with the selections of subordinate non-supervisory vacant positions assuring full compliance with DA EEO policy and regulations. Oversee the development and execution of the organization's Budget Program. Advise higher-level management officials of problems involving relationships of the operations supervised to broader programs and their impact on such programs. Develop local schedules to meet time-phased requirements and furnishes formats for preparation of estimates. Allocate funds to individual organizations/functional areas based on an analysis of organization budget estimates, historical expenditures, projected workload, and approved funding.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires a Financial Management Certification level 3.
  • TDY up to 10% may be required.
  • This position requires you to submit a Public Financial Disclosure Report (OGE 278) or a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.

Specialized Experience- One year of specialized experience which includes providing guidance on budget processes, policies, directives, regulations, statues, and/or current practices in order to propose new methods; utilizing analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to analyze and evaluate management systems, acquisition strategies and/or business proposals; advising on innovative concepts, theories, principles, and/or practices of financial performance planning, accounting, cost analysis, and management functions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Budget AdministrationOral CommunicationPlanning and Evaluating Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
