About the Position: This position is located with the U.S. Army Sustainment Command, 406th Army Field Support Brigade, Fort Jackson, SC.
Duties
Resolves and reports a wide variety of technical problems and unusual occurrences to include, but not limited to, mold, conflicting documentation, or information available, tracing missing freight or personal property through various channels.
Assisst in the deployment coordination meetings to establish deployment timelines, requirements and unit readiness.
Ensures customers understand the contractor and their own personal responsibilities in connection with the shipment of their personal property.
Prepare damage inspection reports completed at shipper’s residence or warehouse.
Advise customers on shipment requirements.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a government vehicle operation certificate, within 30 days of employment.
- Position requires temporary duty (TDY) business travel approximately 20% of the time.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate valid state driver's license.
- May be required to work various hours to include holidays, weekends, or on-call duty.
- Overtime may be required on short notice to include nights, holidays and weekends in support of related mission requirements.
- A National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) Background Investigation is required.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience 1) interpreting government regulation in relation to transporting of customers household goods. 2) communicating with various ground, air, train, or sea large scale packers/mover contractor/carriers. 3) Skill in handling unusual occurrences, and documenting resolutions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
