Duties
You will serve as Platform Analyst, as the life cycle maintenance manager for the San Antonio (LPD)-class ships and, as such, be charged with the responsibility for the long-term planning of all off-ship repair, maintenance, and modernization.
You will manage and direct condition-based maintenance, ship repair and modernization programs, assessments, analysis and initiatives for slow to degrade systems (i.e. structures, propulsion, generators).
You will manage corrosion programs and initiatives throughout the acquisition life cycle of all U.S. Navy surface ships.
You will be assigned as the ship class Life cycle Maintenance Manager, with the responsibility for planning, developing, and execution of intermediate and depot level industrial maintenance.
You will develop budget profiles for assigned maintenance and modernization availabilities.
You will represent SURFMEPP at availability planning and execution conferences to speak about repair, maintenance and modernization and specific ship platform and system requirements to facilitate work definition and authorization of work.
You will initiate inspections in support of Class Maintenance Plan requirements and integrate corrective maintenance/repair requirements into ship's Continuous Maintenance program.
You will evaluate the operating condition of shipboard equipment by collecting, analyzing and validating objective evidence of system or equipment condition for maintenance determination.
You will direct others to, or independently prepare, periodic reports and other correspondence relative to the progress, problems, solutions, and new initiatives associated with the ship(s) maintenance availabilities and life cycle planning.
Requirements

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band NH-02 (GS-11) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: "analyzing and planning off-ship repair, maintenance, and modernization efforts to improve the life cycle of surface ships programs".
