Duties

Serves as an Information Technology (IT) Specialist (DATAMGT/INFOSEC) in the DLA Enterprise Information Services Directorate. Serves as a primary Database Administrator (DBA) and provides database administration support for enterprise level database platforms primarily including Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server. Leads a group of IT Specialists (DATAMGT/INFOSEC) engaged in providing database administration support for enterprise and corporate platforms primarily administering databases using Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server database management systems. Responsible for participating in the design, development, integration, testing, implementation, and deployment of systems governing and affecting the storage, security, retrieval, and integrity of the database management system. Provides technical leadership for the database administration of enterprise applications, including applications interfacing with Agency enterprise applications... ...providing expert technical guidance for the design, development, integration, testing, implementation, and maintenance and improvement of systems.

Qualifications

To qualify for a Lead IT Specialist (DATAMGT/INFOSEC) your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Performs feasibility studies, which involve application of emerging computer technology to resolve unique user requirements. Provides users with expert advice in such areas as compatibility with current software, hardware and infrastructure, potential implementation challenges and issues and the like. Elicits and reviews customer requirements and other information assembled about the nature of the work, the work flow, the processing actions, and the work product(s) in the functional / application area targeted for change. Analyzes alternatives and proposes design for advanced systems software, to include defining complex programming specifications. Projects typically involve analyses of systems with high visibility or widespread impact within the agency. Coordinates development of system documentation for complex assignments in accordance with company standards. Ensures documentation includes information such as functional descriptions, maintenance manuals, test and implementation plans, cost analysis, specification documents and/or database feasibility studies. For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed: 1. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
