You will serve as a PHYSICAL SECURITY SPECIALIST in the Provost Marshal Office/Marine Corps Police Department of MCAS CHERRY POINT.
Duties
You will conduct physical security surveys and crime prevention surveys.
You will participate in facility construction and renovation meetings.
You will be responsible for the daily support and maintenance of the installation Lost and Found Program.
You will support physical security education training programs for Military Police and Law Enforcement personnel assigned to the installation.
You will review all security requirement waivers and exemption requests from the installation and tenant commands.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license, be able to obtain/maintain a U.S. Government emergency vehicle operator's license.
- This position is subject to shift work; subject to 24-hour recall and will maintain a 24-hour recall notification number and is required to respond. May be subject to being interrupted from meal or other work breaks while on duty.
- This position does not meet the definition of Law Enforcement Officer (LEO) and is excluded from coverage as LEO for purposes of the Federal Employment Retirement System-Base Annuity IAW 5 CFR, Part 842, Subpart H.
- Employees are designated as mission essential and are required to respond during as emergency and may be required to travel elsewhere in the U.S. as directed.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Assisting with maintaining key control, reviewing security systems, and support Physical Security Specialists.
GS-09:Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: maintaining key control; inspecting, analyzing, and evaluating security systems; utilizing various security systems and databases (such as the Marine Corps Electronic Security System (MCESS); AND assisting with developing security program policies and procedures.

Education
GS-07: In lieu of the specialized experience, an applicant may also meet the following qualification requirements:
Possess one full year of graduate level education
OR
Superior academic achievement
OR
A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.GS-09: In lieu of the specialized experience, an applicant may also meet the following qualification requirements:
Possess a Master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
Successfully completed two full years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a Master's degree
OR
Obtained an LL.B. or J.D., that is related to the position being filled
OR
A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
