About the Position: This position is located at 128th AVN, Fort Eustis, VA. Fort Eustis, Virginia is located in Newport News, between historic Williamsburg and Virginia Beach. Local Transportation via the Hampton Roads Transit (HRT) bus service to the surrounding area which includes Hampton, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Chesapeake and Virginia Beach, York County, Gloucester, Suffolk, and Smithfield.

Duties

Performs training development and instructional work within the 128th Aviation Brigade. Develops programs of instruction (POIs), lesson plans, advance sheets, practical exercises, and other related materials for student use. Provides advice and guidance to associates, students and graduates on an informal basis. Performs platform and practical instruction to students including platform instruction, administration of practical exercises, and proctoring of tests and evaluations.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Obtain and maintain Instructor Training Certification, Common Faculty Development per TRADOC regulation 350-70 within 6 months of employment.
  • Per TRADOC Regulation 370-70, personnel who are assigned to a faculty position will re-certify every five years.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) developing lesson plans and examination questions for rotary wing aircraft training; 2) identifying and revise course materials to meet student's needs; AND 3) reviewing technical materials and manuals related to the course to identify impact on current rotary wing aircraft curriculum. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Masters or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled, such as, Teaching or Education. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
