About the Position: Serves as the lead Training Development Specialist in the Training Development Division, Prevention Force Modernization Proponent (PFMP), US Army Center for Initial Military Training, Fort Eustis, VA. Fort Eustis, VA is located in Newport News, between historic Williamsburg and Virginia Beach.

Duties
As a Training Specialist (Prevention), you will perform the following duties which is not an all-inclusive list:
Responsible for developing, writing, updating, and maintaining prevention of harmful behaviors related training, leader development, and education (programs of instruction, technical manuals, training plans, etc.) for the total force Army.
Responsible for applying adult learning theory, knowledge of the operational Army, and the military prevention system into current training systems, and recommend new training technology to enhance and supplement existing courseware and training.
Manage a prevention of harmful behaviors education and training portfolio covering Army prevention programs such as sexual assault, harassment, domestic violence/child abuse, substance abuse and suicide prevention training and leader development.
Advise the Chief on issues related to the assigned training and leader development prevention portfolio in areas such as but not limited to sexual assault, harassment, domestic violence/child abuse, substance abuse, and suicide prevention.
Conduct research, analysis and the evaluation of training and leader development products and programs to identify training gap solutions and provide training recommendations across the military prevention system.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance throughout the duration of employment.
- Temporary duty, up to 20% of the time.

Specialized Experience Statement: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you do to the work of this job (1) Developing Military training; for the prevention of harmful behaviors in one or more of the following: sexual assault, harassment, suicide prevention, domestic violence, child abuse, or substance abuse; and (2) recommending new concepts, ideas, or methods to improve prevention training products; and (3) experience in ONE of the following (a) evaluating prevention training programs; or (b) identifying training capability gaps within prevention programs; or (c) advising on training requirements related to prevention programs.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
