About the Position: Fort Eustis, VA is located in Newport News, between historic Williamsburg and Virginia Beach. There is local transportation via the Hampton Roads Transit bus service to the surrounding area which includes Hampton, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Chesapeake and Virginia Beach. Convenient interstate and major highways connect the city to the neighboring cities plus York County, Gloucester, Suffolk and Smithfield.
Duties
Serves as the Training Specialist (Initial Entry Training), Headquarters, Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), United States Army Center for Initial Military Training (CIMT), under the direction of the Initial Entry Training (IET) Division Chief.
Serves as project lead, who leads the project by identifying, distributing and balancing workload and tasks among project members.
Serves as Subject-Matter-Expert/Senior Training Developer in the development and validation of course management documents.
Develops annual and long-range study plans to examine the impact of activities on IET plans, policies and programs.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- The incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
- TDY you may be required up to 25% of the time for this position.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that demonstrates a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction, such as; 1) assisting in developing or redesigning training methods to meet the demand of initial entry training; 2) conducting analyses using data from training base attrition data warehouse and manual input; 3) overseeing implementation of approved organizational training policy and guidance; 4) consulting and/or advising on training resource matters. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
