About the Position: Works directly for the supervisor of the Processing Section in a Military Entrance Processing Station. The primary purpose of this position is to provide additional administrative assistance with the transportation arrangements for military enlistees.
This position will be filled as permanent.
Duties
Conducts the pre-enlistment interviews of applicants in order to gather information for enlistment.
Fingerprints applicants and processes fingerprints as required.
Questions applicants to obtain and/or verify complete data required for final data processing of forms and records for entry into the military service.
Prepares orders and/or pertinent information from enlistment documents.
Monitors airport delays, closures or bus routes delays impacted by weather.
Coordinates travel arrangements with senior service liaisons, airlines, the DTMO, and/or Commercial Travel Office (CTO) to secure airline tickets.
Prepares delayed entry program orders for active duty and Reserve personnel assigned to the Navy, Air Force, Army, Army Reserve, Coast Guard or Marines.
Screens applicant records to ascertain that all necessary documents are present according to the requirements of each military service.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position has been designated as non-sensitive and requires a personnel security background investigation.
- Incumbent may be required to serve a one-year probationary period.
- Employee may be required to work an occasional Saturday and/or shift work (work before 0600 or after 1800 hours).
- Employee will routinely be required to work unscheduled overtime to accommodate fluctuations in workload based on the daily mission requirements.
- Employee may be required to perform occasional overnight travel as assigned.
- You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
- Direct deposit of pay is required.
- Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement.
- Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is authorized, subject to the provisions of the Joint Travel Regulations.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience. Specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service which includes Answering telephones and/or greeting visitors; Reviewing documents for completeness; Preparing required transportation orders; Conducting travel briefing.
OR
Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of by 60. Add the two percentages.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-04).
