About the Position: The Military Entrance Processing Station plays a vital role in maintaining the nation's military might by ensuring that each new member of the Armed Forces: Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force & Coast Guard; meets the high mental, moral & medical standards required by the DoD & the military services. Every MEPS represents state of the art in testing, examining & processing applicants for enlistment into the Armed Forces.
This position is to be filled on a permanent basis.
Duties
As a Test Coordinator, you will:
Implement all aspects of the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) Career Exploration Student Testing Program (STP) in compliance with established requirements.
Coordinate ASVAB testing schedules for the MEPS area of responsibility with school officials.
Identify need for controlled ASVAB test materials and/or promotional materials.
Report ASVAB test results to high schools to facilitate individual and school career planning.
Maintain command database (Schools 2001) of school information within the MEPS' area of responsibility.
Prepare clear concise reports and documents.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position has been designated as non-sensitive and requires a personnel security investigation.
- This position requires you to be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
- This position requires you to possess or be able to obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- This position requires you to work occasional evenings and weekends.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience and/or education requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Scheduling school testing sessions with school officials; Marketing student testing programs to increase participation in the testing program; Conducting pre-test or post-test briefings for assigned schools; Conducting periodic inventories for materials/supplies to ensure no loss; Compiling test results and/or information into a centralized reporting system; Extracting/Gathering data from automated systems to create reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Education; Business; Business Management; Business Administration; Human Resources Management or a field that is directly related to the position to be filled.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.
Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
