About the Position: This position is located in Kenner Army Health Clinic/Occupational Health Clinic in the Reception room B203. The office setting is a secure room due to employee records locked in filling cabinets. Hours of operation 0700-1600. Expectations in the job include contributions to the team by utilizing skill sets brought to the position. Opportunity to learn a specialty clinic processes and meet customers across the MTFs and service to active-duty.
Duties
Verify medical data on patients during appointment visit.
Create databases for the medical surveillance program.
Interview new patients to collect needed information for appointment.
Schedule appointments for pre-employment physicals.
Enter patient information into appropriate database.
File various test results in patient medical records.
Assemble all medical charts for the clinic prior to patient's arrival.
Maintain the office calendars of daily operations.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Tier 1: This position is subject to a background investigation to determine your suitability for Federal employment.
- Hepatitis B: Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
- Influenza: This position has mandatory seasonal Influenza vaccination requirements.
- Tuberculosis (TB): This position requires the incumbent to have Tuberculosis testing.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience and/or education requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service which includes performing clerical or reception duties; receiving patients in person or telephonically; and entering patient data into an automated system.

Education: Successful completion of four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of by 60. Add the two percentages.
