The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a first level supervisor, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over nonsupervisory employees assigned to 637 TRG.
Duties
Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of 673TRG, ensuring that group operational staff complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
Represents 637 TRG with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
Responds to inquiries regarding educational and training issues; develops, reviews, and interprets literature in accordance with AETC instructional guidance.
Commandant and senior staff.

- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience include provides guidance and instructions related to change in overall policies and procedures and the implication of new precedent decisions. Employees are relied upon to perform services, develop products, and take actions that are technically sound and valid. The employee is held responsible for the factual accuracy and procedural substantive sufficiency of actions taken. The employee establishes own priorities to ensure timely initiation and completion of work assignments. Supervisory review of completed work is primarily to determine general effectiveness and consistency with the educational philosophy and objectives of the program and with the policies of the organization. The employee refers unusual or unprecedented situations to the supervisor for assistance.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of strategic planning principles, theories, techniques and practices; resource policies and procedures; and basic statistical measurement tools and techniques to monitor processes/ initiatives or to detect problem areas and develop ad recommend/ execute corrective actions.
2. Knowledge of professional management theories, practices and learning methodologies, and the use of professional training administration concepts, practices, policies, and procedures. Comprehensive knowledge of the organization, mission, policies, and daily operations of the employing organization to manage and/or participate in.
3. Ability to analyze sensitive data and documents to develop timely and economic solutions; to examine, evaluate, and accomplish special training studies and projects; and to plan, organize, and direct the functions, operations, and staff of a small organization.
4. Ability to represent the organization within and outside the agency and to effectively communicate orally and in writing to establish and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders and all levels of personnel within and outside the organizations.
5. Skill in establishing program objectives and assessing progress toward their achievement.
6. Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
