The primary purpose of this position is to exercise second level supervisory authority over the AF directorate's active duty, reserve component, civilian and contractor personnel. Provides expertise to plan and direct capability requirements analyses of the effectiveness and sufficiency of a wide variety of AF logistics and equipping programs and operations.
Duties
Duty 1: Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the Logistics Directorate, ensuring that policies, initiatives, and guidance comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.
Duty 2: Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
Duty 3: Represents organization with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
Duty 4: Oversees Logistics, Equipping and Deployment programs for Security Forces under the Air Force Security Forces Center and Small Arms, Light Weapons, Munitions and Non-Lethal Weapons programs for Air Force user communities.

- Department of Defense Security Physical Security Certification conferral is required within 2 years of the established employee EOD or initial assignment date to this position.
- PCS expenses if authorized will be paid IAW JTR and Air Force Regulations.
Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management positions. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have, or will have with 120 days of the closing of this announcement, at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-14, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes providing supervisory and managerial authority over organization by providing expertise and oversight in planning and directing capability requirements; analyses of the effectiveness and sufficiency of a wide variety of logistics and equipping programs and operations.

FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-14 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-15 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Mastery knowledge of Logistics, Equipping and Security requirements and their factors and consideration, analysis of same, determination of improvement options, and related policy and guidance.
2. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
3. Ability to plan, organize and direct the functions and mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of an organization through subordinate supervisors.
4. Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources.
5. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing in order to articulate and advocate Air Force positions with respect to Force Protection, CONOPS and required capabilities, direct staff studies for GO review and facilitate the condensing of extremely technical input into layman's terms without altering basic content.
6. Mastery knowledge of planning, programming, and budgeting cycles; financial systems and restrictions on expenditure of funds; and standard contracting regulations, practices, and procedures.
7. Ability to plan, organize, develop studies or projects and to negotiate effectively with management to accept and implement recommendations, where the proposals involve substantial agency resources, require extensive changes in established concepts and procedures, or may be in conflict with previous programming actions.
8. Expert knowledge of the organization, programs, missions, and functions of the agency organizations. Knowledge of the Capabilities Review and Risk Assessment (CRRA) process.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
