You will serve as a Security Specialist in the Information Security and Special Program Branch of NAVAL RESEARCH LABORATORY.
Duties
You will be NRL Security POC for the creation and management of all Technology Protection activities and integrates technology protection activities across the lifecycle and across the Naval Research Enterprise.
You will assist in the creation of Technology and Program Protection Framework to reduce compromise or loss of critical technologies. You will protect against unwanted technology transfer.
You will assist NRL research personnel with development and revision of Security Classification Guides(SCG).
You will resolve complex issues that arise in situation where information/technology protection policy does not cover or appropriately address the individual circumstance.
You will assist with disclosure polices, programs, and procedures to aid in NRL decision to release or restrict release of classified military information (CMI) and controlled unclassified information (CUI) or equipment.
Requirements

- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position is considered Key/Non-Combat Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support of the expeditionary requirements in other than combat or combat support situations.
- MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11-12) or pay band (NO-03) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector in order to perform the duties of a Security Specialist. Specialized experience must include some or all of the following:1-Demonstrating program management experience in Operational Security (OPSEC); 2-Working with classified programs;3-Exhibiting a background in Acquisition Security;4- Developing Security Classification Guides and implement Executive Order 13526; and 5-Integrating technology protection activities across the lifecycle and across the Defense Research Enterprise and Naval Research Enterprise.
