Duties
You will serve as an Electronics Technician in the Maintenance Division (N62), Communications, Maintenance and Engineering Department (N6) at Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station Hampton Roads.
You will assist in the planning and installation of complex communication security devices (electronic cryptographic equipment), systems and subsystems.
You will be responsible for the preparation and execution of detailed plans in consonance with the general engineering requirements established by the Defense Communications Agency Red/ Black Electronics Criteria.
You will assist in planning and installing complex communication systems and equipment such as radio transmitters, radio receivers, patching facilities, digital data systems, satellite communication systems and associated ancillary equipment.
You will assist in the technical evaluation of experimental or pilot models of electronic/communication components, systems and subsystems as required.
You will provide technical assistance, represent the command in conferences, or to obtain information when directed.

Qualifications
Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by:
-Experience assisting in the planning and installation of complex communication equipment and systems.
-Experience utilizing Microsoft Access to maintain databases for configuration Management.
-Experience reading and interpreting wiring diagrams, blueprints and schematics.
-Experience developing communication system diagrams using AutoCAD, Microsoft Power Point and other software drawing programs such as VISIO or similar programs.
