You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (DATA MANAGEMENT/SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR) in the NAVAL AVIATION LOGISTICS COMMAND INFORMATION SYSTEM (NALCOMIS) DIVISION of HELICOPTER MARITIME STRIKE WING PAC.
Duties
You will create and maintain scheduled backup jobs and data files on Naval Air Station-1 server and manage and maintain copies on external storage device and network drives.
You will perform updates and queries of Sybase database using Structure Query Language to access and manipulate data.
You will install Data Alignment Program (DAP) updates and perform re-indexing/Database Consistency Checks (DBCC) to repair corrupted tables.
You will manage and maintain network VLAN IP addresses for additional Virtual Machine servers.
You will develop and modify scripts/batch programs, perform data extractions from servers and export/import data to a local/network drive or database application.
You will create, modify and maintain user accounts, permissions and passwords.
You will install Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG), Antivirus signature files and Microsoft Windows updates/hotfixes as needed.
You will develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all Automated Data Processing (ADP) tasks and provide technical support and training to other IT personnel.
You will troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems in response to customer reported incidents.
You will provide customer support to users on issues regarding remote desktop access, connectivity, systems, applications and interface problems.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-9 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying information technology policies, standards, and procedures to identify and resolve information systems and database problems to ensure the integrity and availability of data. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education:
Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management;
OR
Successful completion of 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management.
