About the Position: This position is located at Naval Medical Center, Camp Lejeune This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Duties

Plan, organize, and assign work to be accomplished by subordinates and set priorities for completion of work. Review all incoming medical and educational enrollment forms for accuracy and insures proper coding. Maintain a variety of statistical and demographic data, analyze data and based on findings evaluate the overall effectiveness of screening, determine areas requiring improvement, recommend changes in processes, reorganization, etc. Provide technical and administrative supervision over Medical Support Assistants assigned to the Clinic. Develop employee performance standards. Select, assign, appraise, train, and develop employees fairly and equitably adhering to the EEO program.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
• This position has mandatory seasonal Influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal Influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire).
• Up to 10% Business Travel may be required

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting with workload distribution among subordinate employees; assisting with referrals within health care delivery systems; and analyzing data to support organizational efficiency. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
