You will serve as a SUPERVISORY LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the Strategic Transformation Division (C100TO.1), Transformation Office (C100TO) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Duties

You will oversee and manage new process development, innovation, and technology advancements. You will manage policy, resource management, budget formulation, justification and execution of designated programs related to transformation and new process development. You will advise, counsel and instruct both technical and administrative matters. You will exercise position management responsibilities, assuring that subordinate job descriptions are current and accurate. You will work closely with other departments and senior leaders. You will facilitate effective communication channels to address any stakeholder concerns, gather feedback, and manage expectations.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience in direct supervision; over subordinates performing transformation improvement work. Experience in program management; overseeing operations, planning, and determining manpower, resources, contracting, funding, program requirements, data analysis, audits or similar. Experience in creating and delivering training programs, workshops, or similar. Experience in leading, joint coordination, or collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. Experience with providing expertise, change management, data analysis, that increases operational capabilities.
