You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Deck/Structural Work Center (Code962A), Planning Branch (Code 962), Production Control Divisions (Code 960) Mid-Atlantic Maintenance Center (MARMC) of MID ATLANTIC REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CTR.
Duties
You will review material ordered for accuracy and quantities.
You will attend production meetings.
You will prepare the full range of military shipboard planning and engineering cost estimates.
You will plan and conduct various planning and estimating projects to develop techniques and procedures for improving formal work procedures for equipment operations capability, performance safety, and reliability.
You will review drawings, technical manuals and other documents comprising the formal and control work package.
You will brief higher graded engineers with recommendations.
You will visit work sites while work is in progress to solve repair-related problems and direct the appropriate action to resolve field or shipboard problems.
You will directly supervise subordinates.

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience with budgeting in the Federal government, such as cost estimates.
Experience in procurement, requirements, research, material, purchases, parts, and schedule timeframes to meet required deadlines.
Experience in direct supervision; reviewing direct subordinates work for accuracy in accordance with Manuals and other technical documents such as Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual.
Experience in structural repairs on naval vessels.
Experience with providing technical knowledge in construction, application, properties, operations, and limitations of engineering systems, processes, structures, machinery, devices, and materials.
