Duties

You will receive and transfer fuel by coupling and uncoupling hoses, closes and opens valves, starts and stops pumps, and monitors gauges, meters and filter separators. You will operate and maintain a complete fuels distribution system(s) to receive, store, transfer, and issue both aviation and ground fuels. You will operate one or more type of special purpose design aviation and ground fuel-tank truck vehicles having a capacity of up to 10,000 gallons and gross vehicle weight in excess of 100,000 pounds. You will transport fuel from the bulk storage area to the flight line issue point and position the vehicle for the refueling/de-fueling task as required.

  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • You must be removed from your military recall status. A signed statement of understand is required for this position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a license and/or certification for all assigned equipment, including forklifts.
  • You must possess and maintain a current Class 'A' Driver's License (CDL) with Air Brakes, Tanker, and HAZMAT endorsements with no restrictions at the time of hire.
  • You must provide a copy of your CDL with your application. Failure to do so may result in you losing consideration for the position.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • You may lift and carry weights up to 75 pounds.
  • You must be able to distinguish between basic colors and shades of colors.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: The ability to perform the work of a WG-5413-08, Fuel Distribution Systems Worker, as demonstrated by experience, working under close supervision as directed by higher graded personnel performing the following: receiving, storing, transferring, dispensing fuels, operating work stations or portions of a larger fuel distribution system, operating gasoline and diesel powered refueling vehicles, complying with established regulations for handling fuel; complying with laws and regulations to handle Hazardous Material (HAZMAT), and I possess a Class A CDL with Air Brakes, HAZMAT and Tanker endorsements.
