Duties
You will ensure that personnel carry out the work assignments as directed by the Installation Fuels officer and Fuels Distribution System Supervisor.
You will ensure that employees start performing the assigned work by conducting physical verification and inspection to ensure that refueling operations are being performed in a safe and timely manner.
You will ensure adherence with all pertinent directives.
You will relay instructions from the Installation Fuels Officer and Fuels Distribution Work Supervisor and obtain information concerning problematic areas or workload requirements.
You will report verbal and written status and progress reports to supervisors.
You will distribute requirements and priorities to FDS workers and personnel based on established priorities, schedules, workload distribution and manpower availability.
You will provide on the job safety training to employees.
You will provide instruction to trainees and tracks personnel qualifications standards to ensure that new employees receive proper training to effectively perform all assigned tasks.
You will operate special purpose design aviation and ground fuel trucks fuel/defuel various types of aircraft and ground fuel for various ground support equipment.
You will coordinate with squadron personnel safety, refueling, defueling requirements, and inventory accountability.
You will maintain and manipulate valves, electrical pumps, switches, grounding wires, fuel hoses and nozzles on mobile refueling trucks and stationary aircraft refueling systems.
You will obtain and analyze fuel samples at point of receipt and issue, obtain and analyze fuel samples from transient and fleet aircraft prior to defueling to determine disposition requirements.
You will operate assigned vehicles, including Class A trucks and forklifts.
Requirements

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators, and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift when performing preventive maintenance.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You must be able to distinguish colors and shades of colors.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
- You will be subject to mandatory recall to duty at any hour of the day or night to perform off-schedule fuel operations or to respond to an emergency situation i.e., oil spill.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- You "may" be coded as "key" and as such may be required be removed from your military recall status. A signed statement of understanding required.
- You must possess a valid a Commercial Class A Commercial Driver’s License with HAZMAT endorsement.
- You must obtain and maintain licenses and certifications for all assigned equipment, including forklifts and government weight handling equipment.
Qualifications
Your resume must show that you have the ability to lead or supervise as a WL-5413-08 Fuel Distribution System Work Leader as demonstrated through experience performing routine tasks working under limited supervision performing tasks including the following:
1) Providing direction or guidance to personnel involved in operating Fuel Distribution Systems to receive, load, offload, transfer liquid fuels and similar products.
2) Performing aircraft fueling and defueling operations
3) Operating various types of pumps, fuel distribution equipment, and controls to properly regulate the flow of fuel in a safe and efficient manner.
4) Performing preventive and breakdown maintenance of fuel distribution system equipment.
5) Communicating work related matters both orally and in writing.
6) Understanding and complying with basic Federal, County, and State level environmental and HAZMAT handling requirements.
7) YOU MUST POSSES valid a Commercial Class A Commercial Driver's License with HAZMAT endorsement
