You will serve as a FUEL DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM OPERATOR in the Bulk Fuel Department of NAVSUP FLC SD GF. The duty station is Lemoore, CA.

Duties

You will operate pumps and accessory equipment to receive, load, unload, and transfer liquid fuels and similar products through pipeline and hoses to and from tank farm, hot refueling pits, aircraft or tank truck. You will perform quality surveillance of the fuel distribution systems and Petroleum Oil Lube (POL) products. You will investigate the reasons for contaminated products. You will perform general preventative and corrective maintenance on fuel distribution system and components.

Requirements

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You must be willing to obtain and maintain a Class A CDL with a HAZMAT certification.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current license for all assigned equipment, including forklifts.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: I have the ability to perform the work of a WG-5413-10 Fuel Distribution Systems Operator as demonstrated through experience performing routine tasks working under normal supervision on common tasks and assisting with more complex tasks to include controlling and monitoring Petroleum Oil Lube (POL) product movements throughout sections of pipelines, fuel farms, and/or dispensing systems; operating fuel distribution systems (FDS) by use of switches and valves, portable and stationary pumps, and accessory equipment; monitoring levels and pressures during transfer; conducting fuel gauging; computing fuel quantity based on temperature formulas; taking samples for testing; complying with laws and regulations for handling Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) including fuels; performing preventive and/or breakdown maintenance of a FDS.
