This position is located at Bureau of the Fiscal Service, Deputy Commissioner Transformation and Modernization. As a Supervisory Information Technology Specialist, you will supervise the work of the Unified Communications Branch, provide short term/long-range plan input, and manage the budget, contracts, and acquisition plans.
Duties
As a Supervisory Information Technology Specialist, you will:
Establish program goals and objectives and develop and approve multiyear and long-range work plans and policies, as well as manages the overall work to enhance achievement of the Branch's goals and objectives. Develop and implements policy, procedures, and standards for the program.
Plan, coordinate, direct, and control the day-to-day operations of the Unified Communications Branch.
Make decisions on work problems deciding on and or coordinating work-related changes affecting other units and advising superiors of problems in this regard.
Plan, manage, and coordinate studies relating to Unified Communications usage, efficiency and needs and the implementation and installation of new Unified Communications hardware and software. Assure maintenance of complete documentation.
Assist the Division Director and participate with other Branch Managers in short and long-range operational and planning functions, and furnishes technical assistance to Fiscal Service, Office, Division, or Branch study groups engaged in fact finding studies.
Qualifications

The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Specialized experience: For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service.
Specialized experience for this position is performing IT work in all of the following:
- Designing and/or performing projects/studies that conform with professional (or regulatory or quality) standards/requirements; AND
- Applying IT principles, concepts, methods, standards, and practices to provide guidance, technical advice and recommendations to management on information technology or security policies and procedures; AND
- Experience as a team lead or program lead; AND
- Experience working as a subject matter expert in the IT field.
AND
For this position, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.
- Attention to Detail, such as reviewing legislation or regulatory or procedural changes for effect on existing IT systems and services.
- Customer Service, such as providing system performance evaluation and/or technical assistance to customers of IT services.
- Oral Communication, such as making recommendation on IT related projects/programs/services that are to be discontinued, altered significantly, or added.
- Problem Solving, such as collaborating with management in short and long-range operational and planning functions pertaining to IT services.
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-14, you must have been at the GS-13 level for 52 weeks.
