Duties
Manages the day-to-day operations of a qualification training development branch within Special Forces Training, Special Forces Commandant.
Receives and analyzes new training requirements and develops the requirements into viable training solutions including Training Support Packages (TSP)
Provides training management and development support to the branch to include policy guidance and direction for accomplishment of all training functions in accordance with broad goals and objectives.
Supervises work of Special Forces Qualification Branch, Special Forces Commandant, staffed with Special Forces military and Training Specialists.
Studies workflow, assignments work and as the need arises, makes changes in order to accommodate daily requirements.
Plans, assigns and supervises work of the branch by accomplishing management and administrative functions.
Provides technical advice and assistance regarding needs analysis, job analysis, critical task analysis, and course design, development and evaluation of Special Forces training for Special Forces soldiers.
Develops procedures for implementation oversight and validation of Programs of Instruction (POIs). Identifies training shortfalls, and recommends solutions to the Chief Special Forces Training
Responsible for preparing/executing executive level briefings to higher department officials, Army commands and congressional representatives on Special Forces training.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Incumbent yay travel TDY up to 10% of the time.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
- One-year probationary period may be required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience; Developing Special Forces Qualification Training Requirements Analysis System (TRAS) documentation, Course Management Plans, or Individual Student Assessment Plans. Assisting in the development of procedures for implementation validation of Programs of Instruction (POIs). Analyzing and reviewing new/existing training requirements to advise on the use of new course materials, the identification and correction of academic deficiencies, special training projects or other training activities in support of Special Forces training. Experience in reviewing Special Forces doctrine for Training Development. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11 or above).
