Duties

Serve as an intermediary customer agent, advocate and educator for soldiers and families during the active claims process. Track claims data points to include claims transferred for adjudication to Military Claims Office (MCO) specific to Army in coordination with the United States Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) for Defense Personal Property System (DP3). Advise customers on entitlements or procedures related to temporary storage of goods, weight allowances; prohibited items; and shipment of personal property including various methods available. Prepare and process various applications for transportation or storage of a wide range of personal property and privately owned vehicles, including special items, of authorized civilian and military members.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Position may require temporary duty (TDY) business travel approximately 20% of the time.
  • Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate valid state driver's license
  • Incumbent may be required to work various hours to include holidays, weekends, or on-call duty.
  • Overtime may be required on short notice to include nights, holidays and weekends in support of related mission requirements.
  • Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Government vehicle operation certificate, within 30 days of employment.
  • A qualified typist (at least 40 wpm with 3 or fewer errors) is required

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
