You will serve as a SUPERVISORY LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the Military Sealift Command (MSC), Directorate of Maritime Operations (N04), Logisitics Directorate (N4), Food Service Management Division (N43) of MILITARY SEALIFT COMMAND.

Duties

You will develop/implement programs, policies, and business processes for afloat food service operations and quality of life programs. You will collect, review and submit requirements for food service software systems both afloat and ashore. You will develop and evaluate subordinate employee's performance standards. You will provide written and/or verbal reports and program performance measures.

Requirements

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience leading a high functioning food service team globally in the role of both as a Systems Command and Type Commander. Experience performing food service operations to simultaneously develop and execute provisions mission plans for multiple ships deploying to austere locations in different AORs seamlessly. Experience providing galley design/redesign and equipment sourcing for new construction vessels and major renovations of current platforms. Experience developing food management system functional requirements to incorporate the necessary upgrades to align with current and future needs, i.e. push logistics, etc. Experience with food service operations to provide direction or participate in assist visits, SMART/INSURV Inspections, Supply Management Inspections, Food Service Award Assessments, new construction galley openings, decommission activities, and as a new construction ship final contract trial team member. Experience implementing recipe testing and menu development that are applicable in peace time and global conflicts that are deployable to multiple afloat activities as required. Experience writing food Service curriculum for 5 courses from Senior Management positions to newly hired personnel.
