You will serve as a SUPERVISORY LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the Food Service Management Division of MILITARY SEALIFT COMMAND.

Duties

You will participate in food service external hiring boards and logistics meeting. You will serve as a Board Member for internal selection, participate in MSC SMART Inspections, DLA and FLC Meetings. You will update food service curriculum for 5 courses, request food service systems changes/upgrades, participate in MSC on the spot hiring events. You will recipe test and participate in the Subsistence PRIME Vendor Catalog Updates, update the hiring and advancement criteria for afloat food service personnel. You will serve as Team Lead for the Captain Cook Food Service Award Assessments. You will plan work to be accomplished, sets and adjusts short-term priorities, and prepare work completion schedules. Requirements

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is eligible for part time, substantial or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.
  • Relocation expenses (i.e. PCS) may be authorized in accordance with applicable travel regulations.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Developing/implementing programs, policies, and business processes for afloat food service operations and quality of life programs. Developing afloat food service budgets for Government-Owned/Government-Operated ships. Collecting, reviewing, and submitting requirements for food service software systems. Identifying and developing training requirements and formal training curriculum. Conducting studies, analyses, and galley/equipment design reviews of new construction, ship transfer, and transportation alteration programs identifying/developing requirements for ship acquisition and equipment life-cycle. Planning work to be accomplished, sets and adjusts short-term priorities, and preparing work completion schedules. Developing food management system functional requirements to incorporate the necessary upgrades to align with current and future needs.
