About the Position:
Serve as subject matter expert and training instructor in the United States Army Aviation Center of Excellence (USAACE) Faculty and Staff located at 128th Aviation Brigade. Primary instructor responsible for scheduling and conducting the Common Faculty Development-Instructor Course (CFD-IC), The Common Faculty Development-Developer Course (CFD-DC), Cadre Training Course (CTC), and/or USAACE Faculty & Staff developed courses.
Duties
Provide input to the Faculty and Staff Chief, Training Division, DOTD, USAACE.
Perform analysis of courseware, practical exercises, and examinations to ensure lessons taught meet Army and TRADOC regulatory guidance.
Plan and prepare effective instructional material IAW the Army Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation (ADDIE) process, TRADOC 350-70 and USAACE Regulations.
Develop instructional design products into logical groupings for training.
Review evaluation instruments to identify critical job tasks for determining whether instruction will accomplish its goal.
Evaluate instructor presentations during and after completion of required TRADOC Courses.
Primary instructor for the Common Faculty Development-Developer Course (CFD-DC), the Common Faculty Development-Instructor Course (CFD-IC), the Cadre Training Course (CTC), and/or USAACE Faculty and Staff developed courses.
Prepare follow-up report for Chief, Faculty and Staff upon completion of the course
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
- This position requires to be able to obtain and maintain Instructor training certification, Common Faculty Development per TRADOC regulation 350-70 within 6 months of employment.
- Per TRADOC Regulation 370-70, personnel who are assigned to a faculty position will re-certify every five years.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that demonstrates a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction, which includes: 1) Apply methods and techniques of instruction in an Aviation classroom setting field. 2) Evaluate students' performance and/or test results. 3) Review Aviation training and/or course material to reflect changes in subject matter field. AND 4) Assist in analyzing training requirements to recommend changes/updates needed in Aviation subject matter field. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph. D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled, such as, Education or related field. (NOTE: You MUST submit copy of your college transcripts.)
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
