The selectee of this position serves as a Financial Management Analyst. You will be responsible for managing the financial systems of the agency, to ensure the integrity of the data, security of systems, and efficiency of the agency financial systems.
Duties
As a Financial Management Analyst at the GS-0501-11/12 level, some of your typical work assignments may include:
Serves as an expert on the agency financial systems, providing oversight on accounting processes for the agency
Establish a training program and act as the training coordinator, overseeing regular training on the supported financial systems for the entire agency
Communicates and coordinates with all USMS sub-offices to resolve accounting and financial systems problems
Develops and/or revises agency financial directives, policies, and procedures related to the USMS financial systems

Qualifications
GS-11 TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-09 grade level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-11 grade level. (Must submit your SF-50 that shows Time-in-Grade eligibility and reflects your title, series, and grade. No award SF-50 will be accepted).
You may qualify at the GS-0501-11 level, if you fulfill one of the following qualifications:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes; 1) Compiling and analyzing financial information related to an organization's financial programs; 2) Providing advice and recommendations on financial aspects of operation, maintenance, and program requirements.
OR
Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
GS-12 TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
