You will serve as an ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (INSTRUCTOR) in the Engineering Process Control Division (C/220), Engineering & Planning Department of PSNS and IMF.

Duties

You will design training courses to meet management training objectives. You will prepare lesson plans, training aids and periodic examinations for Engineering Qualification Training for Chief Test Engineers, senior engineering managers and supervisors, engineers, technicians, and others. You will present lectures and assists students with problems. You will generate correspondence related to qualification status of personnel at the Shipyard. You will prepare and review written and/or oral examinations for technical accuracy.

• You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
• Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing and interpreting technical engineering requirements to train and develop personnel through knowledge of engineering principles and instructional methods in the repair and overhaul of ships or submarine systems.
