You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in Code 270.6 Waterfront Electronics Branch - the Electrical, Electronics, and Temporary Services Engineering and Planning, Division within the Engineering and Planning Department of PSNS and IMF.
Duties
You will review and assume responsibility for the final technical adequacy and timely completion of work performed in area of responsibility.
You will assign work to subordinates based on priorities and considering the experience required and the capabilities of the assigned employees.
You will identify manning, types and levels of skill and training, and overtime required to support projected workload.
You will resolve and makes decisions on work problems and recommended actions presented by branch employees.
You will evaluate work performance of subordinates and give advice or instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters.
You will assign training and development performance plans to branch employees.
You will evaluate subordinate employees' performance and provides ratings per the rating.
You will serve as a consultant and principal advisor to the Division Manager for workforce development matters.

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing technical expertise and oversight for the maintenance, repair, modification, overhaul and testing of systems and components for electrical or electronic systems aboard naval vessels.
