You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (NUCLEAR) in the Nuclear Engineering and Planning Department of PSNS and IMF.
Duties
You will serve as a Nuclear Chief Test Engineer Technician for the Nuclear Engineering and Planning Department.
You will manage, direct, control, monitor, interpret and seek resolution in all matters pertaining to the effective planning and conduct for the assigned area of responsibility.
You will provide management control of nuclear engineering work involved with testing, installation, monitoring, operation and maintenance of naval vessel propulsion plant systems.

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
- You must be a qualified Shift Test Engineer IAW NAVSEA 0989-028-5000.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-13) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing technical engineering services analyzing, evaluating and advising on the development, implementation and execution of test programs for nuclear reactor plant test projects on Naval vessels.
