You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Engineering and Planning Department, Test Engineering and Planning Division of PSNS and IMF.
Duties
You will provide leadership necessary to successfully coordinate the entire Hull, Mechanical and Electrical (HM and E) and Combat Systems Test Programs, on assigned availability.
You will ensure testing prerequisites that affect ship's conditions are identified and authorized for accomplishment on the ship's Plan of the Day (SPOD).
You will effectively coordinate with Nuclear Chief Test Engineer for matters involving interface testing with systems under their cognizance and with Ships Force with respect to test readiness and support of shipboard testing.
You will respond to major changes in schedules by restructuring the test program to meet new objectives or provide rational as to why proposed changes should not be adopted.
You will review work products submitted by subordinates for achievement of assigned objectives and adherence to controlling policies.
You will establish priorities and monitor work assigned, making adjustments as determined necessary.
Requirements
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to perform occasional sea duty.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing as a Supervisory Engineering Technician directing or overseeing technical engineering projects or programs for the testing, repair, maintenance, or modernization of ships or ships systems.
