About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the US ARMY INTELLIGENCE AND SECURITY CMD MISSION SUPPORT COMMAND ITRADS, OFFICE OF THE COMMANDER FORT BELVOIR, VA 22060.

Duties

Serve as Director of DETACHMENT 52, which requires subject matter expertise across all intelligence disciplines to represent INSCOM requirements. Provide administrative, technical, and operational supervision and coordination of staff processes and procedures. Represent the CG INSCOM at TRADOC, MACOM, or departmental committees and group meetings at MACOM, DA, Joint Service, or Allied Nation level.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • All INSCOM employees may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on a T5 (or equivalent level) investigation with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
  • Temporary Duty (TDY) Travel may be required 25% or less of the time.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Specialized experience is defined as experience performing supervisory administrative and technical functions in relation to intelligence programs and policies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-14). Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and/or operations. Creditable specialized experience may include previous military intelligence experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle, and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics, and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.
