You will serve as a FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT ANALYST in the COMPTROLLER, PROGRAMS & RESOURCES OFFICE of MCAS CHERRY POINT.
Duties
You will formulate budget and estimates to support plans, programs, and activities.
You will review and evaluate budget requests, control and reporting of obligations and expenditures.
You will provide information about, and interpret standard organizational budgetary, accounting, or financial administrative procedures, practices and regulations.
You will research guides to locate accounting, budgetary and financial information and prepare summaries for use by managers.
You will perform specialize work involving managerial or administrative work in connection with accounting systems; analytical, forecasting, and interpretive functions associated with the management and control of resources or funds.
You will track and control of funds for special programs; and perform analytical or program work pertaining to payroll, cash control or benefit systems.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This is a Financial Management Level I certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
- This position is eligible for part time, substantial or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
Qualifications
GS-05:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Assisting with analyzing financial data to prepare reports and presentations (i.e. historical costs, current funds execution data, or budget forecasts); using financial reporting systems to perform budget execution responsibilities; and reviewing data and documentation to ensure program compliance.
GS-07:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Education
In lieu of specialized experience listed in the Qualifications section, applicants may qualify for the position based on education OR equivalent combination of experience and education as follows:
GS-05:
- I have successfully completed a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree OR
- have a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. My percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent
GS-07:
- I have successfully completed one full year of graduate level education OR
- I have successfully completed a bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement OR
- I have a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. My percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent
