You will serve as a IT SPECIALIST (DATAMGT/APPSW) in the FST DEPT, FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHEAST of FLTREADCEN SOUTHEAST.

Duties

You will diagnose issues with application software to implement solutions to problems. You will configure application software to meet security technical implementation guidelines. You will plan delivery of information technology (IT) customer support services (e.g., hardware or software installation, configuration, troubleshooting, or similar services) for an organization. You will allocate information technology (IT) project resources (e.g., equipment, hardware, software) to meet IT requirements. You will evaluate information systems and technology performance at the operational and integration level.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 422 level INT within 12 months of appointment.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position requires rotating shift work.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1) Performing database management for locally developed and other assigned applications. 2) Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting database systems and database user interfaces. 3) Designing, writing, testing, debugging, and maintaining software applications that meet technical and functional requirements. 4) Supporting the maintenance of existing applications software and participating in system analysis, testing, and implementation of new or modified application software. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving. Education

Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate

GS-5 through GS-15 (or equivalent): For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled.

  4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
