You will serve as an IT Specialist (APPSW/DATAMGT) with Marine Depot Maintenance Command (MDMC) of Marine Corps Logistics Command.
Duties
You will be assign as an Information Management and Information Technology (IM/IT) Software Programmer/Developer with responsibility for a wide variety of Information Technology (IT) duties.
You will be responsible with complicated IT special projects to include new design, minor/major database/software modifications and standard maintenance of application software.
You will be responsible for the design, documentation, development, modification, testing, installation, and implementation of new or existing applications.
You will perform a variety of functions on a wide range of applications software issues.
You will provide advice and recommendations on software; interpret and apply IM/IT policies, processes and guidelines.
You will conduct analysis and recommend resolution to problems and issues; and prepare and present reports.
All tasks must be executed in full compliance with applicable procedures, laws and regulations.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

Qualifications
In addition to the experience demonstrating the four competencies below, your resume must demonstrate at least one year specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying knowledge of, and skill in applications software development concepts and techniques; methods for integrating and optimizing components. Knowledge of current technology and best practices in the delivery of Information Technology services and direct customer support. Knowledge of information systems, security principles, and methods to design, develop, implement and manage systems, networks, and data that ensures confidentiality, integrity and availability.
1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Provides technical guidance in designing, coding, testing, debugging, and maintaining programs.
2. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Brief information technology (IT) users on operation of application and support software systems.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Analyze operating systems malfunctions to implement corrective actions.
