You will serve as a IT SPECIALIST (APPSW/SYSANALYSIS) in the MARINE CORP LOGISTICS COMMAND of MARINE CORPS LOGISTICS COMMAND.

Duties

You will conduct preliminary analysis of business processes for which applications or solutions are being developed. You will collect additional information from customers as needed and evaluates the feasibility of proposed new applications development projects. You will apply technical expertise in developing elements of procurement documentation to specify requirements and quality standards for materiel and technical support of IT initiatives. You will review Command IT solutions and applications within their responsible programs (Cloud based COTS Applications) to assess overall compliance with IT plans and policies and alignment with business requirements. You will audit requirements for IT cloud-based solutions, agency policies and procedures for specific IT functions such as security or applications development. You will provide technical guidance in the design, coding, testing, and debugging process. Provides technical direction and guidance to contractors or other team members. You will provide technical guidance in designing, testing, debugging, and design techniques to the design and development process.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • Must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the DoD Cybersecurity Workforce certifications in accordance with the most current Department of Navy and United States Marine Corps cybersecurity policy guidance within six months of employment.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing IT systems analysis; using practical application of frameworks, methodologies, and approaches to address organizational process challenges; Programming specifications relevant to the design, integration and implementation of cloud-based COTS solutions; Consulting with customers to identify and specify requirements; Recognizing and analyzing problems, conducting research, summarizing results, and making appropriate recommendations an power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and SharePoint. 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Planning, developing and managing processes across the information system life cycle ensuring the information technology capabilities meet the organizational mission for logistics automation. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Consulting customers and managers to analyze and define functional requirements and recommending system improvements/automation. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Defining the need for proposed new or revised IT solutions through consultation with customers, functional managers and/or business organizations. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Analyzing and translating detailed technical or design specifications into integrated IT solutions that automate business and logistics processes, resolve noted deficiencies in operational IT capabilities, and/or address new operational requirements.
