You will serve as an Administrative Officer within NATIONAL MUSEUM of the United States Navy. This Job Opportunity Announcement is using an additional online assessment tool to evaluate applicants. Duties

You will maintain expenses, including supplies, training and Military Interdepartmental Purchase Requests. You will direct the performance of contracting advisory services, budgeting, manpower management, training management, records management and general administration. You will ensure completeness and conformance to contracting guidelines. You will oversee the preparation of travel documents and coordinate with the National Museum of the US Navy. You will evaluate organizational effectiveness and ensure compliance with accepted administrative practices.

Requirements

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You may be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1). Maintaining calendar and meeting schedules. 2). Drafting correspondence and creating and maintaining files. 3). Utilizing the Defense Travel System. 4). Managing employee training coordination through Total Workforce Management. 5). Developing and understanding contracting guidelines. 6). Monitoring contracts and funds for an organization. GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing most or all of the following duties: 1) Administering a detailed internal operating budget, 2) Monitoring contracts and providing reports to senior management on the status of funds for all contracts; and 3) Analyzing administrative programs, methods and procedures, and offering recommendations for the improvement of programs and processes.
